Choose from a range of Hire Bikes to cruise or race out to MONA. This package takes all the hassle away for a day you’ll never forget that involves awe-inspiring art, orgasmic gastronomic food and beverage and of course wind in the hair, feet on the pedals stylin!
After getting professionally sized up to your trusty steed for the day, and of course a cheeky espresso or late, its time to roll out. The ride follows the bike path from Macquarie Point, Hobart wharf all the way to Mona. Extremely safe for all levels of rider, from youngsters and grey nomads to the seasoned pro. We provide helmets and water bottles for the 12km ride out to the Museum which is mostly flat apart from a last 100 meter pinch up to MONA.
You will ride up through the gorgeous Moorilla vineyard to the bike parking location at MONA Museum. Locks are provided for you to lock up your bike and helmet. You will also already have your ticket so you can proceed straight through to the Museum entrance, however feel free to cool down and admire some of the amazing outdoor exhibits while the core tempreature levels out.
One of the many advantages of MONA is that it is situated pretty much directly underneath one of Tasmania’s beautiful Wineries. Once you have spent as much time as you like checking out the exhibits you have three gastronomic adventures to partake in.
1. Moorilla Winemaker’s Plate: Terrine, rillettes, galantine liver parfait, prosciutto, cornichons, pickled onions, apple chutney, olives and sourdough.
2. Moo Brew Brewer’s Plate: Smoked meats, air-dried beef, salami, pickles, relish, berries, cheddar, mustard and sourdough.
3. God’s Plate: hummus, vegetable purées, roasted, fermented and stuffed vegetables, artichokes, dukkah, labnah and crisp flatbread
